KINMEN PASSENGER TERMINAL – TAIWAN
The design for Kinmen International Passenger Terminal draws inspiration from familiar Taiwanese imagery.
The resulting form of the proposal is imagined as an iconic, memorable place – a gateway for sea-bound travelers symbolising the unique island location.
Whilst references to traditional architectural and maritime structures have been absorbed, the project is a visionary work reflecting contemporary Taiwan in the modern world moving into the future.
The shapes and silhouette of the design are suggestive rather than literal, evoking the organic forms of sea life, natural wave forms, and the curvilinearity typical of boat hulls and sails.
